Prora abandoned. Visible from the air, it's like a toy building blocks are arranged in rows to display. Neatness seen from scratches raised design. Apparently uniform from one building to another building. However, in a building which turned out to be the hotel and had stood for 73 years, there has never been a visitor who stayed.

Hotel which reportedly will be the first hotel in Germany’s grandest named Prora. Prora is a complex of buildings that have a large area. This building complex was built during the 3 years between 1936 to 1939 by the Nazi government, as part of the Strength through Joy program or in German language called Kraft durch Freude. Provide recreational activities of the German workers and spreading Nazi propaganda is a purpose built building this complex. The locals call Prora Colossus because it has a monumental structure.

Prora is located in a wide bay between Sassnitz and Binz area. The complex consists of 8 buildings are identic and extends nearly five miles and about a hundred meters from the shore. Prora construction workers need around 9000 and took over 3 years. Nazi government also has a long-term plan to build four identical resorts. They are equipped with facilities cinema, festival hall, swimming pool, dock, where cruise ships dock.

Hotel Prora was Hitler's plan that ultimately failed to continue its development. This is because World War II broke so Hitler as Nazi government leaders must change the priority. He began to divert construction workers to build weapons factories in Peenemunde. During the war years and boming by the allies, many people in the area of Hamburg evacuate the building blocks. Then refugees from eastern Germany also placed in this building.

After the war ended, Prora used as a Military Post for the East German army. When East Germany and West Germany united in the 90s, part of the building used for the School of Military Engineering and a refuge for asylum seekers from the Balkans.
